As we continue to foster community and spiritual growth among our young people, St. Luke’s aspires to be Christ’s healing hands in the lives of these individual disciples and their families, modeling for each other and empowering them to go into the world around them in the name of Jesus.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.” Acts 2:42-43

Confirmation is the season of a young disciple’s faith life intended for a focused study of God’s Word and Lutheran Christian teachings (including Luther’s Catechism). For 7th and 8th grade students, Confirmation seeks to deepen understanding of faith and God’s gifts of Word and Sacrament, receive instruction regarding Lord’s Supper (also called Holy Communion), create dialogue about faith matters, offer a safe place to ask tough questions, learn to apply God’s truth to their daily life and build Christian relationships.

The Rite of Confirmation is celebrated during worship and is the public declaration of a student’s lifelong faith commitment with the help of God, a journey that began on their Baptism day and will continue into eternity!

So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 10:32-33
